Saskatchewan Invites 570 Candidates for Provincial Nomination

On August 27, the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) sent out 570 invitations to immigration candidates from the International Skilled Worker category, through the Occupations In-Demand stream. Candidates were assessed for Educational Credentials and were required an Expression of Interest (EOI) score of at least 69.

Candidates with at least ten years of work experience and a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) score of at least 8, or those with connections to Saskatchewan, only required an EOI score of 68.

The candidates were invited through the Occupations In-Demand subcategory, a base in the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) open to immigration candidates without profiles in the federal Express Entry system.

As the name suggests, this stream was created to invite highly skilled and experienced workers in occupations that are highly demanded in Saskatchewan, who have yet to receive a job offer from within the province.

In order for interested migrants to apply, they must submit an EOI profile to the SINP’s online application system. Through this system, the province is able to select candidates who are best fit for life in Saskatchewan, based on their work experience, education, language ability, age, and connections to the province.

Candidates receive a score out of 100 points based on the assessment from SINP’s International Skilled Worker Points Assessment Grid. Candidates with high scores are issued an invitation to apply for provincial nomination for permanent residency in Saskatchewan.

The 570 candidates invited in this draw had work experience in at least one of 50 eligible occupations listed by the province, including occupational therapists, financial managers, and those in the field of human resources.

As of this draw, the SINP has invited over 3,256 immigration candidates to apply for provincial nomination this 2020, largely through the Occupations In-Demand subcategory or the SINP’s own Express Entry stream.
