Canada is working on a new immigration program for Temporary Residence Visa (TRV) holders.
According to Immigration Minister Sean Fraser, the new immigration program will be a permanent option for foreign temporary residence visa holders. It will be similar to the Temporary Residence to Permanent Residence (TR2PR) program that welcomed over 90,000 new immigrants in 2021.
With ambitious immigration levels plan, appointed immigration minister Sean Fraser is looking at effective and efficient ways to find foreign talent and invite them for permanent residence. He has 120 days to finalize the framework and other details of the new program.
More details will be available on September 8.
How can I become a Temporary Resident in Canada?
It is unnecessary to enter Canada as a Temporary resident to become eligible for Permanent Residency. However, studies have shown that temporary residents with Canadian education or work experience often get more employment opportunities and higher wages than those who arrive in Canada as permanent residents.
How to enter Canada as an International Student?
To enter Canada as an international student, you need to get accepted into a Designated Learning Institute (DLI) before you can start applying for your student permit.
For international students enrolled in programs that exceed eight months, you may be eligible for a Post Graduate Work Permit (PGWP). A PGWP will allow you to stay in Canada even after your student permit expires. The duration of your PGWP is dependent on the duration of your studies. For instance, if you enrolled in a 1-year program, your PGWP can be up to 1 year.
The Study to Permanent Residency Program
About 70% of international students who apply for a Post Graduate Work Permit (PGWP) become Permanent Residents within the next five years.
This proves that the Study to Permanent Residency program is one of the most effective pathways for aspiring immigrants.
Not only does it yield high results, but it also allows for higher wages and better career opportunities.
