IELTS and CELPIP English Language Testing Resumes In Various Countries

English language testing is now more accessible across the globe, as governments continue to ease lockdown restrictions. Aspiring migrants hoping to submit a Canadian immigration application, take note.

Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) recognizes two types of English language tests: IELTS General Training and CELPIP. Candidates who wish to submit an Express Entry profile, apply for permanent residency under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), or apply for Canada’s other federal and provincial programs, are required to complete either of the exams.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, it has been difficult for many immigration candidates to comply with English testing requirements, due to government-sanctioned lockdowns. However, as governments continue to ease restrictions, IELTS and CELPIP are now more readily available.

IELTS and CELPIP test sites strictly follow health and safety protocols to protect both test-takers and test administrators. Among these protocols are regular disinfecting of the venues, the use of masks and gloves, and ensuring social distancing measures are observed in test rooms.

IELTS has announced on their website that Academic and General Training exams are currently available in 89 countries. While General Training is required for immigration, those interested in becoming international students in Canada might be required to take the IELTS Academic exam.

The tests are currently available in the following countries; the Philippines, Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, Egypt, France, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, South Korea, Kuwait, Lebanon, Mexico, Morocco, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Russia, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, the UK, Vietnam, and various others.

As for CELPIP, it is now being offered in all 6 countries it currently operates in. CELPIP testing is now available in; the Philippines, Canada, China, India, the United Arab Emirates, and the US.

The return of IELTS and CELPIP operations, as well as the return of all-program draws, is a good sign for many candidates hoping to continue their Canadian immigration application.

The sooner candidates can comply with their requirements and submit their application, the sooner they could be fortunate enough to receive an invitation to apply for permanent residency.
