Following closely on the heels of the previous PNP-specific Express Entry draw, Canada held another Express Entry draw last July 23, issuing 3,343 invitations to apply (ITAs) for Express Entry to candidates from the Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

This recent draw had a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 445, and also applied a tie-break rule. This means that CEC candidates who submitted their profile before July 12, 2020 at 15:16:55 UTC and reached the cut-off score of 445 received an invitation for this draw.

This recent round of invitations required a cut-off score 14 points higher compared to the last draw targeting CEC applicants. After Canada held an all-program draw last July 8, the Express Entry system received an influx of candidates over the past month, which could have led to the increased cut-off score for this draw.

This latest draw follows the recent trend of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada sending out program-specific invitations since Canada closed their borders due to the coronavirus pandemic in March. With the exception of the all-program draw last July 8, IRCC has alternately held draws for CEC candidates and candidates from the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), usually within days of each other. Prior to this recent draw, IRCC also invited 557 PNP candidates two days before.

As of this draw, Canada has issued a total of 57,700 invitations this 2020, surpassing their record from this same time last year. The country continues to remain on track to accomplishing their goal of 85,800 new permanent residents this year.

Canada encourages those interested to submit their Express Entry profile, as the IRCC continues to accept new applications to the Express Entry system.
