Last May 19, the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) issued a total of 158 invitations in their most recent draw, inviting candidates from the Express Entry BC and Skilled Immigration categories.
Candidates had varying scores, depending on their chosen program.
For Express Entry BC, the score requirements were:
- 110, for the Skilled Worker category
- 110, for the International Graduate category
The candidates under these subcategories had profiles in the federal Express Entry system. A nomination from BC guarantees them an additional 600 points to their overall Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, ensuring them an Invitation to Apply (ITA) on the next Express Entry draw.
For Skills Immigration, the score requirements were:
- 100, for the Skilled Worker category
- 103, for the international Graduate category
- 81, for the Entry Level and Semi-Skilled category
With the impact of the coronavirus on various BC businesses, many sales and service occupations were not included in this recent draw.
Those who received an invitation in the May 19 draw now have up to 30 calendar days to submit their completed application to the BC PNP in order to receive the provincial nomination.
