Canada Invites 385 PNP Candidates in Latest Express Entry Draw

On May 27, Canada’s latest Express Entry draw issued 385 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to candidates who previously received a provincial nomination.

The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score for this draw was 757, as Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates are awarded an additional 600 points to their original score. Without the additional points from the provincial nomination, these candidates would have had a CRS score of only 157.

This is Canada’s sixth PNP-only draw from the federal Express Entry stream since the special measures in response to the COVID-19 were put into place, alternating between targeted draws to PNP and Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates.

Despite travel restrictions, Canada has issued more ITAs this year than at the same time last year, so far remaining on course for their immigration target to exceed 2019’s levels. As of this recent draw, a total of 38,585 Express Entry candidates have received invitations to apply for permanent residency this 2020.
