Saskatchewan Tech Talent Pathway is a recently launched a new program to attract tech talents into the province.

The Saskatchewan Tech Talent Pathway

The Saskatchewan Tech Talent Pathway is the new stream under the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) is designed to attract foreign tech workers to immigrate to Saskatchewan and contribute to the province’s emerging tech and innovation sectors.

Who is Eligible for the Saskatchewan Tech Talent Pathway?

The Saskatchewan Tech Talent Pathway is open to candidates living outside and inside of Canada.

Here is the list of the 11 eligible occupations under the Tech Talent Pathway:

How to Apply: Express Entry Candidates

Interested applicants with existing Express Entry accounts may be eligible for the Tech Talent Pathway. 

As Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) manages applications made under Express Entry, applications processed through this system receive higher priority. 

If you would like to apply for the pathway through Express Entry, here are the eligibility requirements:

  1. Must have a valid Express Entry profile and job seeker code;
  2. Must have a valid language test result with a score of CLB 5 or higher (or its equivalent);
  3. If applying from Saskatchewan, you must have worked full-time for at least six months in the eligible occupation with your sponsoring employer. If you are not working for the employer offering you the job offer, then one year of skilled work experience in the last five years will suffice.
  4. If applying from outside of the country, you must have at least one year of eligible skilled work experience in the last five years;
  5. Must have post-secondary education that relates to the job you have been offered;
  6. Must attest that you will work and reside in Saskatchewan;
  7. Must have an eligible job offer.

How to Apply: For Non-Express Entry Candidates

For candidates not applying through Express Entry, here are the eligibility requirements:

  1. Must have a valid Express Entry profile and job seeker code;
  2. Must have a valid language test result with a score of CLB 7 or higher (or its equivalent);
  3. If applying from Saskatchewan, you must have worked full-time for at least 6 months in the eligible occupation with your sponsoring employer. If you are not working for the employer offering you the job offer, then one year of skilled work experience in the last five years will suffice.
  4. If applying from outside of the country, you must have at least one year of eligible skilled work experience in the last five years;
  5. Must have post-secondary education that relates to the job you have been offered;
  6. Must attest that you will work and reside in Saskatchewan;
  7. Must have an eligible job offer.
