Prince Edward Island recently held two Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draws this August. The first draw on August 11 issued eight invitations to Express Entry and Labour Impact candidates, and the second draw on August 20, the biggest in the program’s history, issued 305 invitations to candidates in all streams.
Of the 305 invitations issued on August 20, 227 were sent out to candidates in the Express Entry and Labour Impact streams, while 28 were sent to Business Impact candidates.
The PEI PNP targeted candidates who are currently working in the province, and who were able to file Expressions of Interest (EOI) profiles before the month of June.
Neither the breakdown of Express Entry and Labour Impact candidates nor the minimum EOI score for each category were not provided.
The PEI PNP’s Express Entry category is in line with the federal Express Entry System, while the Labour Impact Category is aimed at forien nationals with valid job offers and support from their employers in the province. The Labour Impact category is made up of the Skilled Worker, Critical Worker, and International Graduate streams.
Labour Impact candidates are also required to submit an EOI profile in order to receive a provincial nomination through the stream.
Candidates invited through the Business Impact Category needed an EOI score of at least 112. The candidates received their invitations through the Work Permit Stream, which is for foreign entrepreneurs who are interested in owning and operating a business in PEI.
