On October 12, the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) invited over 400 candidates to apply for provincial nomination.
The 400 candidates are comprised of skilled workers, international graduates, and entrepreneurs who the province has invited based on their potential to thrive in British Columbia.
In order for these candidates to be eligible for the draw, they needed to meet the requirements for either the BC PNP’s Express Entry BC or Skills Immigration categories.
They must also create an active profile in the British Columbia PNP’s Skills and Immigration Registration System (SIRS).
Results of the Draw
For this draw, each of the candidates in the Express Entry BC or Skills Immigration streams needed to score between 69 to 91 points, depending on the subcategory they applied to. The subcategories were: Skilled Worker, International Graduate, as well as, Entry Level and Semi-Skilled. From this draw, 308 candidates were invited.
A separate draw was held for candidates in the same categories, specifically targeting candidates in the NOC 0621 (retail and wholesale trade managers) or NOC 0631 (restaurant and food service managers) occupations. For this draw, there were 101 candidates invited, with a minimum score of 104 points. These candidates were invited by the BC PNP to fill specific gaps in British Columbia’s labor market.
Finally, a draw was conducted specifically for Entrepreneur Immigration (EI) candidates. This was the BC PNP’s first draw through this category since August. More than ten invitations were issued through this category.

The BC PNP primarily invites skilled workers with in-demand occupations to apply for provincial nominations. If an applicant is interested in permanent residency, they can register a profile to the BC PNP’s online Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS). This allows a candidate a chance at permanent residency in British Columbia.
Once an applicant has registered their profile, it is then assessed and given a ranked score on a number of factors that determine a candidate’s potential to acclimate to the province. These factors include: education, work experience, language skills, and ties to British Columbia.
