The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) issued 438 Letters of Advice to Apply last December 2.
For this draw, invitations were issued across three different immigration pathways. The MPNP announced the results of the draw as follows:
- Skilled Workers in Manitoba — 358 invitations with a minimum EOI score of 449;
- Skilled Workers Overseas — 51 invitations with a minimum EOI score of 726; and
- International Education Stream — 29 invitations with no EOI score requirement.
Among the 438 LAAs, 71 were issued to candidates with profiles in the federal Express Entry system. Upon successfully obtaining a nomination from the MPNP, these candidates will be awarded an additional 600 points to their CRS score.
The additional points effectively guarantee them an invitation to apply for permanent residency in the next Express Entry draw.
As of this latest invitation round, Manitoba has now invited more than 8,000 candidates to settle in the province.
More on the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)
To obtain an LAA from Manitoba, an interested applicant is required to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) with the MPNP. Once their profile has been registered, a candidate is given a score based on a number of factors, such as work, education, and ties to the province. A candidate may receive up to 1,000 points based on these factors. This is the basis for the EOI score.
The MPNP’s goal is to welcome highly-skilled individuals to Manitoba. Candidates who can supplement the province’s labor market needs are more likely to receive an LAA.
