CRS Score Decreases by 7 Points in Latest CEC Express Entry Draw

On May 28, Canada held a second Express Entry round for Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates, sending out over 3,515 invitations to apply with candidates holding Comprehensive Ranking System scores of 440 or higher.

Cut-off scores continue to lower for Express Entry draws as Immiration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) continues to target CEC-specific candidates. This recent CEC draw is the largest since May 1, and the second-largest since the implementation of the special coronavirus measures last March.

As has been the trend, this most recent draw has decreased the CRS score for the sixth time in the last six draws. This is likely due to IRCC frequently holding draws at regular intervals in the last two months.

This latest cut-off score 7 points lower than the last CEC draw on May 15, from 447 to 440. It is now the lowest number of points for the cut-off program since January 2019.

This latest CEC draw was the second in 24 hours to issue Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for Canadian permanent residency, bringing the total number of ITAs issued this 2020 to 42,100.
