The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) sent out 421 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAA) to immigration candidates last November 1.
Invitations were issued to candidates across three different immigration streams. Here’s a breakdown of the results from the MPNP:
- Skilled Workers in Manitoba – 350 invitations with a minimum required score of 460 points;
- Skilled Workers Overseas – 38 invitations with a minimum required score of 713 points;
- International Education Stream – 33 invitations with no minimum score requirement.
Of the 421 invitations, 75 were issued to candidates who also had active profiles in the federal Express Entry system. Should they successfully receive an invitation from the MPNP, they will automatically be awarded 600 additional points to their Express Entry profile. This effectively guarantees them an invitation to apply for permanent residency.
More than 8,000 candidates have now been invited to settle in the province as of this draw.
More on the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)
In order to receive an LAA from Manitoba, an applicant must file an Expression of Interest (EOI) with the MPNP. Upon submitting their profile, candidates are then ranked based on a number of factors and given a score. This is the basis for the EOI score, which awards candidates up to 1,000 points depending on factors like work, education, and ties to the province.
The MPNP’s goal is to invite individuals whose skills are in high-demand in Manitoba to settle in the province. Candidates are more likely to receive an LAA if they have skills that can supplement the province’s labor market needs.
